As part of the final degree show 2007/2008 at The University of Derby, Jasim Ghafur showcases; "The Journey of Pain" 

The works I am exhibiting are studies in which I have tried to illustrate my emotional interaction with the issue of migration. This body of work reflects the different dimensions of my personal understanding and experiences in which I with others have had to leave behind what was achieved in the past. They are an attempt to exhibit the physical and psychological struggle that was required to enable me to survive and cope with everyday risks in crossing borders between Iraq, Iran and Turkey

 Descendants of All Worlds Exhibition

New Art Exchange in partnership with Long Journey Home will be exhibiting locan refugee artists. 6th-28th March, 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday.

· Jasim Ghafur - Visual Artist / Painter from Kurdish Iraq

· Thaer Ali - Visual Artist / Painter from Kurdish Iraq

· Emmanuel Changunda - Stone sculptor from Zimbababwe

The exhibition will be followed by a number of workshops;
· Printmaking workshops with Jasim Ghafur – 10th, 11th March 4-6 pm

· Banner making workshops with Thaer Ali – 17th,19th, 25th March 4-6pm

· Batik workshops with Emmanuel Changunda –26th, 28th 29th March 4-6pm
